Bon APPétit! A musical tasting menu

Satisfy your craving for great music...

Village Opera is proud to present a co-production with Toronto-based company Muse 9 Productions. Music director Hyejin Kwon and stage director Anna Theodosakis unite to create this feast for the ears and taste buds in two musical courses: Lee Hoiby’s Bon Appétit!, and Chansons de mon placard by Peter Tiefenbach. Lee Hoiby's Bon Appétit! is an episode of “The French Chef” cooking show turned short opera featuring Mezzo-soprano Victoria Borg as culinary icon Julia Child. Filled with the wit and charm of the famous chef, watch as she prepares and serves a decadent chocolate cake over the course of the opera. Chansons de mon placard is a song cycle written by Toronto’s own Peter Tiefenbach. These comic songs are inspired by the items found in our kitchen cupboards, and how even the most basic ingredients can provide artistic inspiration. Don't miss this palate-teaser of an event at The Market Kitchen, in the Covent Garden Market!
